Education & Scholarships

ADDC Foundation

The goal of the ADDC Foundation is Energy Education.  The Foundation supports many Association of Desk and Derrick Clubs (ADDC) programs, but our main priority is to support organizations and projects that educate everyone including students at all levels and individuals within and outside of the energy industry.  The Foundation also funds community outreach projects throughout ADDC and the energy industry in order to create awareness of the role and value of energy in our daily lives.  Learn more about the ADDC Foundation in our brochure or contact us at [email protected].

Certification

The ADDC Certification Program offers courses to further your knowledge of the industry including Accounting, Completion & Production, Drilling, Geology, Land & Leasing and Petroleum Marketing.

Educational Trust

ADDC established The Desk and Derrick Educational Trust in 1982 for the purpose of awarding scholarship to students pursuing a degree in a major field of study related to the petroleum, energy, or allied industries, with the objective of obtaining full time employment in the industry. All scholarships are made through accredited colleges and universities offering degrees that fall within the scope of the Educational Trust’s purpose, such as geology, chemical engineering, and petroleum engineering.

The Educational Trust qualifies as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Latest News

ADDC authors the Bit of Fun Energy Activity Book—an activity and coloring book designed to promote education about the oil and gas industry. It is a great educational tool to teach the younger generation how oil and gas affects their lives.

This is an indispensable tool in the oil, gas and energy industries. The information included in this book has made writing tasks within energy and its related industries simpler and has, through the years, added consistency to industry reports.

Included with the book is a CD containing Universal Conversion Factors—a 342-page list of measurement conversions—and a chart of the Stratigraphic Nomenclature for Michigan.
